kerry-reducedWelcome to the Ladies section of Staffordshire Moorlands Athletics Club, my name is Kerry Marchant and I am the Ladies team manager; if you are a member of the club I will keep you updated of events by email and letter but also keep a check on the website for upcoming events. If you are new to the website and are thinking of joing the club then here is a bit about the Ladies section:

We currently have about thirty Ladies all with different abilities, we welcome all new members wether you be new to running or already run to quite a high standard. On a monday night there is a Ladies only session at the track at Birchall Playing Fields (by Britannia head office in Leek) this is from 6 - 7pm all ladies are welcome to this and if you are new to running this is a good place to start as you can stop at anytime without having to make it back to your car. On a Tuesday there is a group of Ladies who do a run round town, they also meet at Birchall and the run is 5 - 6 miles, however it is only round town so you can cut back at anytime, this group starts the run at 6.30 prompt. I train on the track on a Tuesday with a couple of other Ladies and a couple of the Male runners, this session starts at 6pm and anyone can join in if you fancy it, we are coached for this session by David Owen and if you do want to join in he will adjust the session to suit your ability. Once you meet the other lady memebrs you will find they go out for runs at all times during the week so you maybe able to meet up at other times for runs if you like.

If you are undecided about joining a club then here are a few good reasons to join:

We have a really friendly ladies section and it is a good way to meet new people with similar interests.

We have a few social events throughout the year so it isn't all running.

If you want to race then being a club member means cheaper race fees for every race you do.

You will find you improve much quicker with other people around you and you will enjoy running much more.

If you want anymore information about the ladies section then please email me at ladies AT staffsmoorlands-ac.co.uk

Bye for now

Kerry
