On Sunday May 30th Tom Brookes and Lauren Hancock won the boys & girls races at the Stoke 10k, the trophy for this event was the Roy Fowler memorial so it was great that they went to two moorlands ruuners. The trophies were presented by Paul Fowler (Roy's son and former coach & member of SMAC) Well done to you both!

Junior Club Championship
Below is a list of races that I am hoping have fun runs attached to them, last year they did but they will need checking before you turn up on the day.
For the championship you need to complete 8 out of the list and the points will be as follows:
1stMoorlands boy & girl 25 points
2nd Moorlands boy & girl 23 points etc. You will get at least 1 point for each race you do. At the end of the year the boy and girl that have completed 8 races & has the most points will win the championship and the trophy will be presented at next years presentation evening.
If you take part in any of the races please just drop me an email to let me know.
Thanks
Kerry Marchant

Phil Greer pays tribute to juniors

I would just like to say a special thank you to all the juniors and seniors who ran around the Potters Half Marathon with me on June 14th on a red hot day.
It was a great effort by all and when I have collected in all the sponsor forms and money in I will publish the total amount on our website.
I would personally like to say a special thank you to Mark Dean and Gareth Hancock who have spent endless hours with the slower ones in the training group and who ran around with them on the day to make sure that they were not left on their own, whilst I was able to concentrate on pushing the faster ones on.
It was a great team effort in training and on the day but lets not lose sight of the main reason why we did it and that was to pay our tribute to Barbara Greaves who was a dedicated member of our group both at training sessions and at the races. She was a true freind to all of us and I for one will never forget her.
Lets also pay tribute to the courage of her daughter Georgia Greaves and her close freinds Kelsie Stair, Amy Dean and Samantha Sheldon who have helped Georgia through this troubled time and who trained hard for the race so that they could also be part of the group who ran in her mum's name.
Thanks to all of you
Phil Greer Junior Coach
