The membership management process has been updated to align with the new data privacy laws coming into force on 25th May 2018. The Club's Data Privacy Policy statement explaining what personal data is collected, how it is used and safeguarded and what rights you have to control your data is available HERE.
You can review the personal data we hold about you, correct and update it and acknowledge that you have been informed about our privacy policy and your rights via the membership portal. If you are an affiliated athlete we also need you to consent to us sharing your data with England Athletics.
New members joining after 22nd May will automatically enter their data and provide their consents through the updated on-line form, existing members will need to log in to check and update their information.
Please log in to your User Account through the Membership Portal to:
CHECK YOUR DATA:
All members, whether athletes, life members or associate members should log in to their account through the Membership Portal to check that the details we hold are correct. Update them if necessary. You should have received (or will soon receive) an email entitled “Data Privacy Update” which includes a reminder of your User ID.
GIVE CONSENT FOR SHARING AFFILIATION DATA WITH EA
If you are an affiliated athlete you will also need to tick the box to consent to the club sharing your data with England Athletics. After 25th May we will not affiliate/re-affiliate members who have not given their consent.
ACKNOWLEDGE DATA PRIVACY POLICY
You will also need to acknowledge that you are aware of the clubs data privacy policy – which ideally you should have read. It explains what personal data the club collects and uses and sets out your rights regarding your own data.
EMAIL PREFERENCES
From 25th May 2018 we will be able to continue to keep you informed about club matters but unless you expressly give consent we will no longer be able to send you any promotional material (such as offers of club branded clothing, other clubs’ race promotions, sports related local services). If you wish to receive this type of information you need to opt in and consent by ticking the relevant boxes in the mailing preference section of the form. You do not need to opt in to any of the promotional items to remain fully informed about club activities.
CLUB CORRESPONDENCE
Most members will usually want to receive information about club activities and we would encourage all members to stay informed. Regardless of your ability there will always be an opportunity for you to represent the club. However we realise that not everyone wants to take part in training sessions and/or team events so we have provided an opt out facility. If you really don’t want to receive information about a club activity, uncheck the box to opt out.
STAY UP TO DATE
If you change your address, email address or phone number please return to the Membership Portal and update your details (User and Member). The club will rely on them to contact you.
You can change your Email Preferences and Club Activity Correspondence settings at any time by ticking/unticking the relevant boxes.
JUNIOR MEMBERS
If you were registered as a user to manage a membership for a Junior but had not provided your own membership details we have generated a template Associate Membership application for you (no cost for this membership type). Please fill it in and submit the form at the same time as checking the details and providing affiliation data sharing consent for your junior member(s).
